Plan for emiratisation of judiciary in phases

As proposed, the process of emiratisation will be carried out over a 10-year period.

The emiratisation of judicial positions will be implemented in phases, Mohammed bin Nakhira Al Daheri, Minister of Justice, has said.

The first phase will involve emiratisation of the Courts of First Instance and Public Prosecution, he said.

This will be followed by the emiratisation of the Courts of Appeal and Federal Courts.

Al Daheri said that his ministry would start carrying out the localisation plan by early next year.

The Ministry of Justice, he said, will have diversified orientation programs to enable UAE nationals to attain competence for the jobs with the judiciary.

Also on the anvil are new family courts and stock and securities federal courts, Al Daheri revealed.
