A reliable source said that even after the final list is compiled, political factions may not issue it forthrightly as they have made secret pacts regarding vote-sharing. The Islamic alliance appears to be skeptical about choosing its candidates. Senior Islamist figures have intervened so that the list is completed, especially after some candidates were defeated at the by-elections. upport reform laws and projects and promote political stability.
Meanwhile, the Reshedi tribe has postponed its primary election to Sunday because some candidates complained about unequal opportunities. It was expected to be held yesterday at the fourth electoral district.
Some members from the Anzi tribe are mulling over contesting elections by disregarding tribal dictates. This is because the tribe failed to appease its candidates equally.
On the other hand, the Dhefeer tribe has decided against consulting with fellow members regarding holding primaries, as three candidates boycotted it and preferred that the voters elect their chosen candidate, reported Al-Watan.
With regard to Shiite candidates, a source disclosed that they plan to form two alliances- one which comprises former MPs Adnan Abdulsamad, Ahmad Larri and Yousef Al-Zalzala. While the second will have the likes of Saleh Ashour, Khalil Al-Saleh and Anwar Bukhomseen. Another list featured prominent members like Jameel Merza, Sayed Hide and Fuad Al-Baghli. Engineer Jenan Bushahri did not submit her nomination for the ongoing polls mentioning lack of interest.
