Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Mohammad al-Asaadi highly appreciated assistance given to Yemen, stressing that Yemen seeks to enhance its relations with Gulf states, the state news agency, Saba, said.
A number of countries and organizations participating in the fourth meeting of Friends of Yemen in New York pledged $8 billion to help the country during the transitional period 2012-2014.
Yemen President Abdu Rabo Mansour Hadi who attended the meeting said Yemen is one of the countries which have been largely affected by terrorism, especially its economy.
"Suitable assistance to help the country fight Al-Qaeda remains necessary" he added.
