Qatari news agency quoted a source from the Qatari foreign ministry said "in view of Israel’s refusal to comply with Security Council resolution 1860, Qatar submitted a request to invite the Arab League Council meeting at ministerial level as soon as possible to study the report of the Arab Ministerial Committee on the mission of the UN Security Council consultations and steps should be taken to confront the continuing Israeli aggression in Gaza Strip."

 Resolution 1860 calls for an immediate cessation of hostilities.
