Quoting an unnamed foreign ministry official, the agency said the government hoped that “the formation of a Palestinian government of national unity reinforces unity in Palestinian ranks and realises the aspirations of the Palestinian people.”

“Qatar calls upon the international community and the Quartet (the European Union, Russia, United Nations and US) to support this government and work seriously towards lifting the blockade imposed on the Palestinian people,” the official added.
