They were given a warm reception at the Mehrabad International Airport by Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki, Charge d’ Affaires at the Qatar Embassy in Tehran Mohamed Hussein Zeinal And Iran’s Ambassador to Qatar Mohammed Tahir Rabbani.
Later, the Emir held talks with the Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmedinejad at the Presidential Palace. The Prime Minister and Foreign Minister H E Sheikh Hamad bin Jassem bin Jabor Al Thani, Chief of the Emiri protocols H E Sheikh Mohammed bin Fahd Al Thani, the Emir’s Secretary for the Follow Up Affairs H E. Sa’ad Mohammed Al Rumaihi and the Charge d’ Affaires at the Qatar Embassy in Iran Mohammed Hussein Zainal, Iranian First Vice President Parviz Davoudi, Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki, Adviser to the President Samareh Hashemi, Director-General at the foreign ministry Fayrouz nia and Iran’s Ambassador to Qatar H E Mohammed Tahir Rabbani were attended. The talks covered the bilateral relations and means of promoting and developing them. Several regional and international issues of concern to both sides were also taken up in the discussions. The Emir attended a luncheon banquet hosted in his honour and the accompanying delegation by the Iranian president .
The Emir left Tehran in the evening, winding up a short working visit to the Islamic Republic. The Qatari delegation were seen off at the airport by Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki, Charge d’ Affaires at Qatar Embassy to Iran Mohammed Hussein Zeinal and Iran”s Ambassador to Qatar Mohammed Tahir Rabbani.
