The legal advisor at the Saudi embassy in Dhaka made the appeal when the court held its session Tuesday.
Four defendants, who were produced at the court, have confessed to their crime while the fifth accused was absconding.
Khalaf, an official at the embassy’s consular section, was shot and killed near his residence in Dhaka.
