The Council of Ministers, chaired by Crown Prince Salman, deputy premier and minister of defense, urged the international community to prevent Israel from carrying out these projects aimed at solidifying its occupation.
The Kingdom warned that the Israeli move would obstruct the peace process and undermine the region’s stability.
Prince Salman thanked Allah for Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah’s quick recovery following a back surgery. He also commended the high position enjoyed by the king in the Arab and Islamic world, his influence on world affairs and his role in the Kingdom’s remarkable progress. “This has helped him win a leading position in the list of Forbes magazine,” the crown prince said.
The Cabinet reviewed the outcome of the 18th conference of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change in Doha, hoping it would contribute to implementing the convention and its protocol as well as laying the foundation to address climate change after 2020.
Culture and Information Minister Abdul Aziz Khoja said the Cabinet approved the transfer of duties of Control and Investigation Bureau, especially investigation and public prosecution in crimes, to the Bureau of Investigation and Public Prosecution (BIPP).
“The bureau should take up the areas transferred to it within two years,” the Cabinet instructed. The BIPP, the Control and Investigation Board, the General Auditing Bureau and the Ministry of Civil Affairs will be restructured in accordance with the new Cabinet decision within a year.
The Cabinet also approved the strategic plan to develop the performance of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The ministry has to submit a biannual report to the Cabinet, including outcomes, obstacles and suggestions regarding implementation of the plan.
The Cabinet authorized the head of the Presidency of Meteorology and Environment to discuss and sign with Moroccan officials a draft memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the field of environmental protection.
The Cabinet endorsed the final account of the Grain Silos and Flour Mills Organization for the fiscal year 2011.
The Cabinet approved the organization of the Saudi Organs Transplant Center. The center will prepare a draft comprehensive system regarding organ transplantation.
The Cabinet appointed Muneer bin Ibrahim Al-Punjabi ambassador, Essam bin Ahmad Al-Thaqafi ambassador and Omar bin Ali Al-Eiaidi minister plenipotentiary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Cabinet was briefed on the efforts exerted by the Kingdom through the Islamic Organizations for serving Islam and on the best ways for activating various communication channels with others in order to correct misconceptions about Islam.
The Cabinet was briefed on the annual reports of the Agriculture Development Fund for the fiscal years 1427/1428H, 1428/1429H and 1429/1430H and the two annual reports of the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice for the fiscal years 1427/1428H and 1428/1429H.
