Interim President Counselor Adly Mansour received Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Saud Al-Faisal and reviewed means of boosting bilateral relations in different fields. The Interim President also received Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and the Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and his accompanying delegation. The two sides discussed means of enhancing bilateral relations in different fields and boosting the volume of UAE investments in Egypt. The Interim President also received Ahmed al-Garwan, the President of the Inter-Arab Parliament and his accompanying delegation. Moreover, the President received the African panel under former Malian president Omar Konare. Foreign Minister Nabil Fahmy said Egyptian-Saudi relations are at their best. He added the Egyptian stance aims at maintaining the interests of the Egyptian national security adding this is the best way for dealing with a State like Egypt. For his part, Prince Al-Faisal said he conveyed to President Mansour a message from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques renewing the fact that Saudi Arabia supports Egypt in all issues and at all times adding this is not strange as this is the nature of relations between Egypt and Saudi Arabia. "We are not only optimistic but are sure that Egypt has a flourishing future in all fields", he said. Answering a question on the Saudi assistance to Egypt in the light of the suspension of European assistance, Prince Al-Faisal said statements by European States are just threats as both sides are having mutual interests. "I do not believe that the assistance will be suspended and that Europe is keen to have good relations with Egypt", he added. For his part, Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi said his country is looking forward to the return of Egypt to resume its role in the joint Arab action. He said the United Arab Emirates supports Egypt so that it may achieve the map of its future. Presidential Spokesman Ambassador Ihab Badawy said President Mansour expressed Egypt’s gratitude to the UAE, adding Egypt, government and people highly appreciate the UAE support. He said this support in nothing new for the UAE quoting late UAE president Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan as saying that the Arab oil is not dearer than the Arab blood. He said President Mansour renewed Egypt’s commitment to maintaining the Arab national security as one of the components of the Egyptian strategic security. For his part, Ahmed al-Garwan, the President of the Inter-Arab Parliament reiterated willingness to support Egypt. He thanked Egypt for hosting the Inter-Arab Parliament, which is seated in Damascus. Meanwhile, Colonel General Abdel Fattah El Sisi, the Minister of Defense met with Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed. Sheikh Zayed has praised the national role of the Egyptian army. He said this army has managed to take Egypt to safety at this difficult time through which Egypt is passing. He said the Egyptian people are aware of the volume of risks besetting them expressing confidence that Egypt will rise up to the level of its national and historic responsibility. |
