King Abdullah was speaking in the inauguration of the general conference of the union of Arab universities, hosted by Nayef Arab Academy for Security Sciences.
He said Islam was a faith of moderation. The Saudi people, added the Monarch, was committed to Quran and teachings of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH), and would stand as a high wall against those who deviated from the right path.
The general conference, which features participation of presidents of over 160 Arab universities, aims at fostering bonds between the universities and encouraging the establishmet of research centers.
