Among those who attended the talks were Iran’s First Vice-President Mohamed Reza Rahimi and the members of the official delegation accompanying the Heir Apparent. Bilateral relations and means of bolstering them in all fields were reviewed during the meeting.
The Heir Apparent conveyed greetings of HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani to the Iranian president wishing the Iranian people further progress and prosperity.
The Iranian president reciprocated the Emir’s greetings.
Later a round of official talks was held at the Presidential Palace here between HH the Heir Apparent Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani and Iran’s First Vice-President Mohamed Reza Rahimi.
Members of the official delegation accompanying the Heir Apparent attended the talks.
From the Iranian side the talks were attended by Iranian Commerce Minister Mehdi Ghazanfari, Vice-President and Head of Environmental Protection Organisation Mohamedi Zadeh, Assistant Foreign Minister for Middle East Affairs Rauf Shibani, Assistant Minister of Intelligence and Security Majeed Alawi and Iranian Ambassador to Qatar Abdullah Sohrabi.
The two sides discussed bilateral relations and means of developing them. They also reviewed a number of regional and international issues of common concern.
Earlier the Heir Apparent was accorded an official welcome ceremony upon arrival at the Presidential Palace in Tehran.
The Heir Apparent held separate meetings with Iran’s Defence Minister Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi and the Speaker of Iran’s Parliament Ali Larijani.
Talks covered the relations between Qatar and Iran.
The Heir Apparent attended a luncheon banquet hosted by Iran’s first vice-president at the Saadabad palace in Tehran.
The banquet was hosted in honour of the Heir Apparent and the official delegation accompanying him.
Later in the evening the Heir Apparent left Tehran for Paris, wrapping up one-day official visit to Iran.
He was seen off at Mehrabad International Airport by Vice-President and Head of Environmental Protection Organisation Mohammadi Zadeh, Qatari Ambassador to Iran Ibrahim bin Abdulrahman al-Moghaisib, Iranian Ambassador to Qatar Abdullah Sohrabi, and a number of Iranian officials as well as members of the Qatari embassy in Tehran.
The Heir Apparent sent a cable to the Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and first vice-president in which he expressed thanks and appreciation for the warm hospitality accorded to him and the accompanying delegation during the visit.
