She noted that at a meeting with him she felt he held the aspirations to a stronger GCC and to more welfare for the GCC countries.

"On many visits and in many meetings with world leaders I found no such a person or a leader that had the same real genuine enthusiasm to develop education and scientific research and to develop Gulf societies, not only Saudi Arabia,” she said.

The presence of King Abdullah as the leader of the Arabian Peninsula enhances the confidence in the future, she said, expressing her appreciation of his ample knowledge and deep interest in scientific research and academic programs.

In an interview with the Qatari newspaper Al Sharq and the Saudi daily Al Riyadh, published Wednesday H.H. Sheikha Mozah, said that the health and education projects and scientific research in Qatar were not impacted by the global financial crisis, thanks to the strategy of His Highness the Emir to set aside an endowment for these projects.

"The financial crisis is a lesson we ought to learn and we have to focus on our economies and investments,” she added.

H.H. Sheikha Mozah noted that parts of the world have become more interdependent, hence all countries in the region, including Qatar should learn from the global economic lessons in managing economies.
