Rachel Corrie’s parents, Craig and Cindy, have been pursuing the trial in an Israeli court to bring those responsible for their daughter’s tragic death to justice.
"We are here with a great deal of anticipation for Tuesday," said Cindy in East al-Quds (Jerusalem) on Sunday, The Associated Press reported.
"We are hoping for some accountability here for what happened to Rachel," she added.
Rachel was 23 when she was crushed to death by an Israeli military bulldozer on March 16, 2003 while attempting to intervene in the demolition of a Palestinian home in the Gaza Strip.
Her parents say they have spent more than USD 200,000 of their savings to fly in eyewitnesses from the Gaza Strip, attend hearings, and translate over 2,000 pages of court transcriptions.
"We found ourselves in a war of attrition…That’s what it feels like," said Craig, a Vietnam War veteran.
Gaza has been blockaded since 2007, a situation which has caused a decline in the standard of living, unprecedented levels of unemployment, and unrelenting poverty.
