Sudan factions encouraged to coordinate: Qatari minister

He told reporters after meeting international mediator for the African Union and UN Djibril Bassole and a delegation for the Sudanese Revolutionary Committee’s Movement, that he was briefed on viewpoints of the faction and had heard their keenness on negotiating with their country’s counterparts, afterwhich he had pledged Qatar’s assistance on the matter.

Whether or not there were certain points Qatar would concentrate on to achieve harmony among the factions, Al-Mahmoud said that his country continues to encourage this direction and unified coordinated steps if possible, "and this is what we have felt from them." He added: "We are still at the consultations stage, and any negotiations are always preceded by consultations. We must wait for the Addis Ababa group to listene to what they have to say, so we can form a mediation plan and how to go about things."
