Sultan Qaboos and Kuwait Emir hold talks

Earlier on his arrival at the Emiri Airport in Kuwait, Shaikh Sabah led the welcoming party for His Majesty the Sultan.His Majesty was also received by Shaikh Nawaf al Ahmed al Jaber al Sabah, Heir Apparent, Jassim Mohammed al Khurafi, Chairman of Kuwaiti Ummah Council, Shaikh Mishaal al Ahmed al Jaber al Sabah, Deputy Head of the National Guard, Shaikh Nassir al Mohammed al Ahmed al Jaber al Sabah, Prime Minister, Shaikh Jaber al Mubarak al Hamad al Sabah, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, Shaikh Ali Jarrah al Sabah, Acting Minister of the Emiri Diwan Affairs, Shaikh Dr Mohammed Sabah al Salim al Sabah, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Adviser Rashid Abdulmohsim al Hamaad, Deputy Prime Minister for Legal Affairs, Minister of Justice and Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, Shaikh Ahmed Fahd al Ahmed al Sabah, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, the State Minister for Development Affairs and State Minister for Housing Affairs, Shaikh Mohammed al Khalid al Hamad al Sabah, Head of National Security Service and Head of the Mission of Honour accompanying His Majesty the Sultan, Shaikh Salim bin Suhail al Maashani, Oman’s Ambassador to Kuwait, Shamlan Abdulaziz al Roomi, Kuwait’s Ambassador to the Sultanate, senior Kuwaiti military officials and members of the Sultanate’s Embassy in Kuwait.

After a short rest at the Emiri Protocols Hall, the Royal motorcade of His Majesty the Sultan headed to Bayan Palace where His Majesty will stay. His Majesty the Sultan is accompanied on the visit by Sayyid Ali bin Hamoud al Busaidy, Minister of the Diwan of the Royal Court, Gen Ali bin Majid al Maamari, the Royal Office Minister, Yusuf bin Alawi bin Abdallah, Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs, Ahmed bin Abdulnabi Macki, National Economy Minister and Supervisor of the Finance Ministry, Mohammed bin al Zubair, His Majesty the Sultan’s Adviser for Economic Planning Affairs, and Maqbool bin Ali Sultan, Commerce and Industry Minister.

The visit comes within the framework of strong brotherly relations binding the Sultanate and Kuwait of which His Majesty Sultan Qaboos and Shaikh Sabah al Ahmed al Jaber al Sabah are keen to enhance for the interests and well-being of the two brotherly peoples. On his departure from Abu Dhabi Emiri Airport after a three-day private visit, Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), led the farewell party for His Majesty.
