Sultan Qaboos, Shaikh Sabah to discuss bilateral ties

 His Majesty’s visit comes in the context of the strong fraternal ties that bind the two countries to advance co-operation in the service of the Omani and the Kuwaiti peoples.

Issues of common concern in light of developments in Arab and world arenas will also be reviewed.

His Majesty and Shaikh Sabah will discuss the strong fraternal relations that bind the two countries and means of enhancing co-operation in the service of the peoples of the two countries.

Earlier yesterday, His Majesty the Sultan left Sharm El-Sheikh concluding a private visit to Egypt during which he discussed with President Mohammed Hosni Mubarak bilateral ties and Arab and world developments of common concern.

His Majesty the Sultan and the president reviewed the good fraternal ties and means of enhancing them in all fields to serve the interest of the brotherly Omani and Egyptian peoples.

They also reviewed the latest regional and global developments.
President Mubarak bade His Majesty the Sultan farewell on departure. His Majesty was also seen off at the airport by Major General Abdulfadheel Shousha, Governor of South Sinai, and the Sultanate’s Ambassador to Egypt and its permanent representative to the Arab League.

Upon departure from Sharm El-Sheikh, His Majesty the Sultan sent a cable of thanks and appreciation to President Mubarak expressing sincere thanks and gratitude for President Mubarak for the generous hospitality, stressing the importance of meetings of the two leaders in strengthening the solid ties between the two countries and boosting co-operation in the service of the Omani and Egyptian peoples.

These meetings also constitute an opportunity for consultation and the exchange of viewpoints on several issues and developments on interest to the two sides.
