GCC defense and foreign ministers discussed in their meeting in Riyadh yesterday threats against the region’s stability and made necessary decisions on this, he told reporters on the sidelines of the closed-door parliament session.

 

 

Sheikh Mohammad, who is also Deputy Prime Minister, noted the Saudi proposal for establishing an international counter-terrorism center, adding that such an establishment required cooperation between GCC security authorities.

 

 

Moreover, he underscored the need for unifying GCC media address in this regard, adding that the GCC ministers would be holding more meetings to prepare a report on counter-terrorism and coordination mechanisms.

 

 

Kuwait was represented at the meeting by First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Interior and Minister of Defense Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, the foreign minister, and Vice President of the National Security Apparatus Sheikh Thamer Ali Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah.
