They discussed possible ways of rendering an extraordinary meeting of the PUIC’s executive committee on Israeli settlements in Jerusalem which will be held later today a success. The meeting is scheduled to discuss the issue under the theme ”Warning to Israel …. New Settlements in Jerusalem will harm International Peace”.
Al Ghurair, also head of PUIC’s executive committee, underlined the importance of the Islamic common stance and harmony towards the Jerusalem in particular and the Palestinian Cause in general. Settlements that Israel is building in Jerusalem and its surroundings should be halted, he stressed.
”The UAE backs this exceptional meeting and hopes it would attain its objectives …. The UAE is in favour of any effort seeking to stop various Israeli practices against the Palestinian people and their occupied territories,’ he added.
The Turkish speaker said the aim of the Istanbul declaration, which will be issued at the end of the meeting, is to send out a clear-crystal message to the world about the stance of the PUIC towards Israeli practices on Jerusalem and towards the Palestinian Cause.
Meanwhile, Al Ghurair attended a coordinating meeting of the GCC parliaments to discuss the draft final statement of the meeting.
