UAE Cabinet explores national strategic issues

Shaikh Mohammed expressed his pleasure on holding the Cabinet retreat session this year at such a historic venue, hoping that the quietness of the desert would help the Council of Ministers take sound decisions.

During the meeting, the Cabinet examined the achievements of the first phase of the Federal Government Strategy of 2008-2010. A number of ministers briefed the Cabinet on the practical implementation of the strategies of their ministries and future plans to commence implementation of the second phase, which runs from 2011 to 2013, and whose priorities are safeguarding the family ties and national identity, as well as qualitative education, health and knowledge driven economy.

Saif Sultan Al Aryani, Secretary-General of the Supreme National Security Council, briefed the Cabinet about the strategy of the council based on an advanced system to manage the national security through activating and easing information swap among competent authorities to address national endeavours and implement directives of the leadership.

Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid and General Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, exchanged views here on the most important issues being discussed by the Cabinet at its retreat session.

The Abu Dhabi Crown Prince expressed confidence in the Vice-President to score the higher national objectives.

Shaikh Hamadan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Representative of the Ruler in Western Region, attended part of the Cabinet retreat session discussions.
