Opening session
Shaikh Hamdan’s speech was read by Ahmad Humaid Al Mazroui, the RCA’s Board Chairman on his behalf before the opening session of the 39th meeting of the General Secretariat of the Organisation of Arab Red Crescent and Red Cross Societies, which kicked off yesterday in Dubai.
He also said the huge challenges and responsibilities faced by national organisations are the result of the rapid changes witnessed in the Arab region, as well as the poor humanitarian condition in general in hot spots around the world.
He added that these circumstances have had a direct negative impact on the structure of our national organisations and the mechanisms and their areas of activity and work.
Hence, he added, it is essential to enhance partnerships and coordination of stands, while developing programmes that guarantee the continuation of these activities.
