He said in a statement on Thursday that the historic relations between the two countries were once more highlighted in the statement issued on Wednesday by Foreign Minister Shaikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan that the UAE was following up with satisfaction the current developments in Egypt.
Mansour said the UAE’s stance would mark a new phase to restore the historic relations between the two countries, adding that some in Egypt during the dark year tried to isolate Egypt from the Arab world and the region.
The UAE envoy commended the initiative of the President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, on releasing 103 Egyptian prisoners who have been convicted in different cases.
On Shaikh Abdullah’s praise of the Egyptian army, he said that the army had once more proven beyond doubt they were a strong shield for Egypt.
