In a statement to Wam, on the occasion of the launch of a new Etihad Airways service to the Kazakh capital of Astana, the ambassador praised Etihad Airways for its decision to operate a direct flight from Abu Dhabi to Astana, after opening in last December its first route to Almaty, Kazakhstan’s largest city.
Saif described the decision as “an extraordinary step forward in bilateral relations between the two countries.”
He cited some strategic partnership projects between the two countries, including the giant oil project in Kazakhstan’s portion of the Baltic Sea and the development of the Nursultan oil field.
The envoy noted that the UAE was committed to activating positive partnership in its strong relations with Kazakhstan and to work for the great success of the relations of joint cooperation between the two countries through significant increase in the area of investment, economic cooperation and exchange of visit between the two countries’ businessmen and senior officials.
He said he expects the future to bring more positive developments in the boosting of bilateral cooperation between the two countries in various areas.
