The case has been referred to court after proper investigations, confirmed Dubai’s Attorney General Issam Eissa Al Humaidan yesterday.
The Lebanese woman, who had lodged a complaint with the Public Prosecution, over a month ago, is the sister of a businessman who died.
The woman’s brother had business association with the minister.
Acting on the complaint, a Public Prosecution task force under the supervision of the attorney-general’s office investigated the matter thoroughly.
The Public Prosecution recorded the statements of all the people concerned and examined whatever evidence was available.
The case dates back to 1995 when the Lebanese businessman owned several companies in Dubai and took the minister as a partner.
The complainant alleged that after the death of her brother who used to take care of the family business in 2005, the minister reached a settlement with the deceased’s family on the division of businesses between both parties, as he was a partner.
The family later discovered that the minister was a mere service agent, not a partner, earning an annual income of Dh300,000, which was later raised to Dh600,000.
