Presiding over a cabinet meeting for the first time, the newly-elected President highlighted the need to press ahead with the efforts aiming to realize all objectives of the initiative and the government programs.
"The government has to continue its commitment to the GCC plan and the related executive procedures accurately in order to get the country out of the problems left over by the last year crisis," he underscored.
"The government shoulders a great national responsibility towards the people, and has to open new horizons for national action and better future," President Hadi pointed out.
"We face the task of preparing the ground for a comprehensive national conference that will gather people from across the political, social, cultural and economic spectrums with a view to building an all-inclusive national partnership based on equality and social justice," the president added.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Muhammad Salim Basindwah pledged, on behalf of his cabinet members, to spare no effort in rebuilding the state of law and revive the economy.
"The government has set an action plan to put the country on the right track within two years," Yemen News Agency (SABA) quoted the prime minister as saying.
On his part, Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Dr. Mohammad Al-Saadi said that his ministry has developed an urgent plan for economic recovery.
"The plan will be tabled to the conference of the friends of Yemen, due in Riyadh, capital of Saudi Arabia, on April 24, 2012," Dr. Al-Saadi said, highlighting the need for international funding for the plan.
He added that the government plan focuses on resumption of services for the citizens, particularly the energy and water supplies as soon as possible, besides pushing forward the political and administrative reforms and scaling up the combat against corruption.
