The visit to boost ties and cooperation between the two countries was reaffirmed at the meeting. Both the leaders also decided to enhance relations so as to benefit from the experiences of Bahrain and Singapore in various sectors like development, economic, commercial and investment sectors. The Crown Prince extended his thanks and appreciation for the interest exhibited by the Minister Mentor towards bolstering Bahraini-Singaporean ties.

The Crown Prince extolled the historical role of the Minister Mentor in making Singapore a global model of development and modernisation. On his part, the Minister Mentor commended the approach of Bahrain and its policies aimed at upgrading all domains and development and economic sectors. The meeting was attended by the official delegation accompanying the Crown Prince.

Meanwhile, Singapore’s President Sellapan Rama Nathan received Shaikh Salman yesterday. The Crown Prince conveyed His Majesty the King, Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s greetings and best wishes of good health to the president and prosperity to Singapore and its people.

President Nathan welcomed the Crown Prince’s visit to Singapore saying it would broaden the scopes of bilateral relations. He also hailed Bahrain’s outstanding economic and trade status, its keenness to constantly develop its human resources and its initiatives aimed at reinforcing Mideast peace and stability.

On his part, the Crown Prince lauded the advanced position enjoyed by Singapore in West Asia and thanked the president for his interest in pushing for more solid Bahrain-Singaporean ties. Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander Shaikh Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa yesterday met Singaporean Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew at the presidential palace yesterday.
