Kuwaiti Ministry of Health hires 170 bedoon medics

Undersecretary Assistant for Technical Affairs Dr. Khalid Al-Sehlawi said the nurses were graduates of the Institute of Nursing at the Public Authority for Applied Education and Training and passed recruitment tests while the process for their appointment in public hospitals and polyclinics was on.

In a separate note, Dr Al- Sehlawi denied reports hinting at a reshuffle involving deputy directors of public hospitals.

Shiite offender bailed Columnist Mohammad Al-Mulaifi was released from jail yesterday after serving a six months’ sentence for offending the Shiites in a column posted online. Al-Mulaifi was reportedly set to be released last week, but the Interior Ministry had insisted that there was still one more week left for his sentence to run out.

The Criminal Court had initially sentenced Al-Mulaifi for seven years in prison on hate charges before the Appeals Court reduced the jail term to six months.
