A local Arab daily reported that some Saudi woman graduates have landed in Doha with the aim of pursuing teaching career here. They apparently have responded to an announcement posted on the website of the Supreme Education Council. Most of these women are from the eastern territory of Saudi Arabia and are likely to get suitable posts in at least 50 local schools in Qatar for a monthly salary of QR9,000.
Recently, hundreds of Saudi woman teachers had also applied for similar jobs in Kuwait and Bahrain.
The number of unemployed Saudi women rose to 176,113 which is 26.3 percent of the female population in the Kingdom.
