Iran has called in the Kuwaiti charge d’affaires over the Arab country’s recent hosting of an anti-Tehran meeting.
Iran’s Foreign Ministry on Monday summoned the Kuwaiti envoy in the absence of its ambassador in protest against the meeting in Kuwait City that was attended by hundreds of Saudi Arabia’s mercenaries with the purpose of countering the Islamic Republic.
During the meeting, an Iranian Foreign Ministry official said Kuwait’s hosting of the meeting is a “flagrant example of violation of international norms and conventions and runs counter to Good Neighbor policy.”
The Iranian official also called on the Kuwaiti diplomat to convey Iran’s protest to his country’s officials.
