AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Ali Mushaima has spent night sleeping on the sidewalk outside the Bahraini Embassy in London as his hunger strike enters its second day.

The London-based activist and son of jailed Bahraini opposition figure Hassan Mushaima is protesting his father’s ill-treatment in detention.

Ali vowed to remain camped out in front of the embassy until his father is granted access to medical care. He is also demanding that prison authorities permit him to receive family visits and return his personal belongings.

Mushaima’s family has not been allowed to visit him for over a year.

The 70-year-old prisoner of conscience is a cancer survivor and suffers from multiple health conditions including diabetes.

But the authorities at Bahrain’s Jaw Prison are accused of withholding his medication and preventing him from receiving regular check-ups.
