"We had good judicial agreements with Qatar and also agreed on extradition of some Iranian prisoners," Pourmohammadi told reporters after his meeting with Al-Amri in Tehran on Monday.
The Iranian justice minister pointed to Iran-Qatar judicial agreements, and said, "Fortunately we agreed on extraditing some prisoners with heavy convictions to Iran."
Asked about the number of Iranian prisoners in Qatar, Pourmohammadi said, "We agreed that 10 prisoners be extradited to Iran and 20 others be freed."
Earlier today and in a meeting with Al-Amri, Pourmohammadi voiced satisfaction in Tehran-Doha relations, saying, "Fortunately, the two countries’ relations are in the best and most favorable conditions."
The Iranian justice minister underlined that Iran-Qatar relations have considerably expanded in recent years.
On Sunday, Iran’s Judiciary Chief Sadeq Amoli Larijani underlined that strengthening judicial relations between Tehran and Doha would lead to the development of judiciary ties and cooperation among the Muslim countries.
"Consolidation of judiciary relations between Iran and Qatar can be a proper ground for the expansion of legal ties among the Islamic states and establishment of law and judiciary union of the Muslim world," Amoli Larijani said in a meeting with Chairman of the Supreme Judiciary Council of Qatar in Tehran.
He stressed the necessity for broadening of ties between Tehran and Doha in different fields, and said, "Expansion of relations between the two friendly and neighborly countries of Iran and Qatar benefits the two nations and the Islamic world and will have a highly positive effect on the region and the world."
Amoli Larijani also voiced Iran’s readiness to transfer its experiences to Qatar in legislative and judicial fields as well as joint cooperation in fighting corruption.
Both Iran and Qatar have recently augmented efforts to further expand ties and cooperation in all the different political, economic, defense, security, judicial and cultural fields.
The two Persian Gulf littoral states recently signed several protocols to increase mutual cooperation.
Al-Amri, whose trip to Iran is taking place upon the formal invitation of Amoli Larijani, will also have meetings with other senior Iranian officials to pave the way for further development of bilateral ties between the two Persian Gulf states.
