One of ISIS’s official media wings released a video today allegedly showing a drive-by shooting of a Danish citizen in a moving car it says occurred two weeks ago near Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The video called “The First Rain” was released by al-Batar Media and shows what it claims is an ISIS combatant from the group’s newly formed “Saudi branch” carrying out a drive-by shooting on Thomas Hopner,
According to the reports, Thomas Hopner — an employee of leading Danish-Swedish food cooperative Arla — left work in his white BMW and was shot in the shoulder while in transit. He was later taken to the hospital in stable condition.
Only two weeks ago, ISIS’s leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi addressed his supporters in Saudi Arabia in a speech calling for attacks against the Saudi regime. The speech came a few days after an unknown Saudi Jihadi group pledged allegiance to ISIS.
