Kuwait Doctors Forum had filed the case requesting for the cancellation of the decision based on which the ministry was deducting certain amounts from the doctors’ salaries and transferring them directly into the bank account of the association without their approval.
Head of the forum Dr Hussein Al-Khabaz explained that an official letter was submitted to the Minister of Health Dr Ali Al-Obeidi in 2012 out of the forum’s keenness to preserve the rights of the doctors and stop the illegal deduction of their money by the ministry.
However, the minister refused to cancel the decision even though the financial excesses exceeded KD5 million.
The plaintiff counsel Lawyer Adel Shams Al-Din affirmed that the minister’s decision was contested at the court due to its violation of the Kuwaiti Constitution.
He added that the court revoked the decision and has ordered to return the money deducted throughout these years to their owners.
Worker cheats firm: A well-known company in Kuwait has filed a lawsuit against its Egyptian employee for reaching an agreement to sell two four-wheel drive cars to a prominent businessman, who owns a wholesale car market, for KD 5,000 while the actual cost of the cars was KD 20,000.
However, by the time the case was filed, the suspect had already left the country because it took a long time for the Accounting Officer to discover breach of trust.
The detectives initially suspected the Jordanian manager of sealing the deal with the businessman through his Egyptian secretary. This prompted the officers to summon the manager for interrogation.
The company has now changed its method of operation particularly where money is concerned because it has experienced a series of thefts and fraud incidents.
