On the sidelines of 28th International Conference of Islamic Unity here, Shahabi said situation in Manama, capital of Bahrain, is complicated, especially following arrest of Sheikh Ali Salman, Secretary General of Al-Wefaq Islamic Society and threatening members of the group by al-Khalifa regime.
He expressed regret over current situation in Bahrain and predicted that there would be more tension following continuous suppression and Bahraini people’s insistance on freedom from cruel regime of al-Khalifa.
Al-Shahabi called on Islamic countries to forget their differences and form a united Umma and end interference of foreign sides and their agents.
He called for condemnation of al-Khalifa regime and support for peaceful move of Bahraini people by the Islamic countries.
