Dar meets businessmen, investors in Kuwait

LAMABAD – Minister for Finance Mohammad Ishaq Dar, who is currently in Kuwait to attend the high-level Global Islamic Finance Conference, on Tuesday held a meeting with Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development Managing Director Abdul Wahab Al-Bader and reviewed progress of various projects being financed by the fund.

Pakistan’s Ambassador to Kuwait Muhammad Aslam Khan and senior officials of the fund participated in the meeting.

The finance minister thanked Abdul Wahab for the important role that the Kuwait Fund has played as a reliable development partner contributing to several important development projects in the energy, infrastructure, human resource development and other sectors. Progress of various projects being financed by the fund in Pakistan was also reviewed during the meeting.

The minister informed the Kuwaiti officials about the positive trajectory of the Pakistani economy and the investment-friendly environment created as a result of the prudent policies of the present government and the vast improvement in the security conditions following the successful anti-terrorism operations.

The managing director expressed appreciation for the positive economic and business outlook in Pakistan. He assured the minister that he would be happy to invest in more and bigger projects in Pakistan in the sectors proposed by the government of Pakistan.

Dar also held a meeting with a group of leading Kuwait-based Pakistani corporate executives and shared with them the positive horizons of investment and trade openings up in Pakistan. He was to meet a diverse group of Kuwaiti and Pakistani investors and business leaders as well as community notables later on Tuesday evening.
