"Providing quality services and the safety of patients is our main concern," said Dr Mohamed Ghanem Al Ali, from the National Health Authority.
He was speaking to the media on the sidelines of a two-day meeting of GCC Nursing Council which concluded here yesterday.
The meet discussed different issues, including the Council’s budget, selection of a logo and staff appointments at the Council.
The meet was presided over by Dr Taufeeq bin Ahmed Al Khoja, Director-General of the office of the GCC Health Ministers’ Council. Financing for the Nursing Council comes from the GCC Health Ministers’ Council.
The objective of the Nursing Council is to enhance the role of the nursing staff in the region and planning and conducting training programmes for them. The Council is also involved in a lot of research and coordination work.
The Nursing Council was established in 2003 with its headquarters in Doha. A number of medical experts from the GCC countries attended the meeting.
