The Ministry affirmed Kuwait’s commitment to the relevant international charters and resolutions as well as good-neighborly relations. Earlier in the day, Iraqi media reported that Kuwaiti naval troops and fighter jets targeted a site of a company operating in the Iraq waters.
In remarks to KUNA, Kuwaiti Defense Ministry spokesman Brigadier Youssef Al-Mullah termed the reports as “absolutely groundless.” Al-Mullah stressed Kuwait’s respect of the sovereignty of other countries and its serious efforts to enhance security and stability in the region noting that such reports will not effect on the “deep relations between the two sister countries.”
