Both leaders reviewed bilateral relations in various areas particularly in aviation, economy, investment, business, tourism, energy and defence, which have witnessed a massive growth lately. They also discussed progress in the Middle East peace process, security in the region and efforts to boost stability in the Arab world.
HM and Sarkozy also expressed their satisfaction with the progress of the ties between their countries and underlined the will to continue dialogue and coordination to further promote them in order to serve the welfare of their peoples. Later, King Hamad attended a luncheon given by Sarkozy in his honour.
The meeting was attended by Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Minister of the Royal Court, Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Minister of Finance, Shaikh Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, and Bahrain’s Ambassador to France, Dr Hashim Albash.
Meanwhile, HM praised the warm welcome and hospitality he received from the French President during the meeting in which economic, trade and technical cooperation was agreed upon. Both sides affirmed their commitment to continue consultation and coordination for the benefit and interest of their peoples.
