"Iran is ready to hold face-to-face talks with its brothers from the UAE on the misunderstanding about abu Moussa island," Foreign ministry spokesman Mohammad-Ali Hosseini told reporters.
Sheikh Mohammad bin Rashed Al-Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and ruler of Dubai, is expected here on Tuesday.

Hosseini said Sheikh Mohammad would be meeting president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Vice-President Parviz Davoudi.

Iran will "seize any opportunity to remove misunderstanding," said the spokesman who noted that Sheikh Mohammad will be accompanied by UAE foreign minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al-Nuhayyan.

Iran is occupying the UAE’s Greater and Lesser Tonbs, Abu Moussa islands since early 1970s.
