Experts seek Gulf-European free trade agreement

The Minister of Commerce and Industry Dr Hassan Fakhro highlighted the suitable opportunity for GCC states and their European counterparts to increase bilateral exchange given the great potential and promising economies of both sides.

The European Union (EU), the largest economic bloc in the world with a population of half a billion people is witnessing a remarkable increase in trade exchange, import and export brought about by the Eastern Countries recent accession to the Union, he added.

The forum on Central Europe 8 Eastern new economic strategies with the Gulf states has doubled the commercial exchange over the past years between the European Union and Bahrain to reach $ 1.3 billion, the minister noted.

His high profile economic & investment Forum organised by the Crans Montana Forum in association with Crans Montana Forum — Middle East is the first of its kind to connect the GCC with the Central and Eastern European nations.

It is held in partnership with the Federation of GCC Chambers, EUROCHAMBERS, the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO), and the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The Programme combines plenary sessions, parallel sessions, individual business meetings and round tables focusing each time on presentations of corporate and countries’ investments opportunities and business cooperation wishes in the fields of : Energy, Renewable Energy, Natural Resources, Transport, Infrastructure, Mining, Oil and Gas, Real Estate, Telecomnication, IT, Tourism, Public Health, Trading, Financial Services and Banking, Manufacturing.
