Mohammad al-Hosseini was speaking to reporters following a reception at the Iranian Embassy in Kuwait on Thursday.

Al-Hosseini cited Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s presence in the recent GCC leaders’ summit in Doha, Qatar, as a paradigm of such an Iranian yen.
Iranian-Arab relations are witnessing a tangible development, including an increase in the size of trade exchange and mutual official visits, he said.

Asked if Iran could attend the coming Gulf summit, al-Hosseini said if an invitation was extended, then it would be considered by the Iranian president.

He pointed to mutual understanding between Iran and Arab countries about the importance of mutual visits and the necessary provision of an atmosphere of optimism to the region’s peoples.

He added that Iran was offering the region’s peoples an easy access to the country.

Responding to a question if Iran still wants to "export" its Islamic revolution to other countries, the Iranian spokesman said relevant statements made by late Imam Al-Khomeini following the assumption of power in Iraq were misinterpreted by western mass media.

On Iran’s role in Iraq, he said three rounds of Iranian-US talks were held on the volatile security situation in Iraq, and Tehran was pondering over another request from the US for a fourth round of talks.
