Khalifa calls for joint GCC approach

Shaikh Khalifa said this as he arrived here yesterday heading the UAE delegation to take part in the 10th consultative meeting of the leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council held at the Khaleej Palace in Dammam.

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz of Saudi Arabia, and other high-ranking Saudi officials received the UAE leader and his delegation at King Abdulaziz Air Base in Dhahran.

Shaikh Khalifa said in the statement that the 10th consultative meeting “is in line with the importance given by the GCC leaders to consultations to revamp the GCC”.

He stressed the need for joint GCC approach in all fields to safeguard the interests and aspirations of GCC people.

Meanwhile, President Shaikh Khalifa returned home yesterday after taking part in the GCC meeting in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. Shaikh Khalifa and the delegation accompanying him were received at the Abu Dhabi airport by Shaikh Tahnoun bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in the Eastern Region, Shaikh Hazza bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Under-Secretary of the Court of the Ruler’s Representative in the Eastern Region, and a number of other senior officials.
