Gareth Harris of the Art Newspaper writes that a bomb blew up yesterday, July 4, at the Prophet’s Mosque in Medina, located in western Saudi Arabia—the second holiest site in Islam. It is still not clear whether the mosque sustained any damages.
The explosion, which killed four men, was seemingly one of three orchestrated attacks that took place in the country yesterday. One of the attackers failed to damage a Shiite mosque in Qatif. Another bomb exploded in Jeddah, close to the US consulate.
No terrorist organizations have claimed responsibility for the attacks as of now.
