The Qatari minister pointed out that his visit to Oman comes in response to an invitation by Dr Jumaa to sign the MoU and to review Oman’s successful experience in training and employment of Omanis, such as Sanad project and vocational training. Oman is a pioneer among GCC states in conducting field studies on citizens’ empowerment, he added. Al Dosari said that the MoU relates to exchanging expertise, studies, technological training, exchanging visits and organising of seminars.
A follow-up and planning committee would be set up to draft an annual programme for future co-operation between the two countries in different programmes, events, visits and studies, he added. The session of talks focused on the importance of enhancing bilateral co-operation, especially in labour. There has been an agreement on the Manpower Ministry’s computer programs and successful employment and training programmes. An Omani team of experts in computers and studies will visit Qatar soon to help Qataris set up specialised programs in this field, he continued.
The training of Qataris and co-operation in employing Omanis in Qatar were also discussed. As per records, the number of Omanis working in Qatar stands at 2,500 and is expected to rise as there are more job opportunities for Omanis in specialised and technical jobs, he added. The session of talks was attended by director-generals at the ministry and Qatari Charge d’Affaires and the delegation accompanying the guest. Dr Jumaa hosted a dinner in honour of Dr Al Dosari at Muscat Grand Hyatt hotel yesterday. It was attended by ministers and under-secretaries.
