Al-Wefaq National Islamic Society issued a sentenced Sunday reassuring that the regime in Bahrain is dragging the country into a wider and deeper crisis and is risking the security, stability and justice of the great majority of Bahrain people, especially after incriminating following the Ja’fari faith through the sentence issued against Ayatollah Sheikh Issa Qassem.
As Al-Wefaq dubbed the sentence an accusation and insult to 60% of the Bahrain people, it stressed that “we are in front of a fierce war, and we do not have any sort of peace, justice and good living. We need to protect and defend our rights as humans and citizens, and everyone holds the moral, humanitarian, and legal responsibility to provide safety to the Bahrain people and their religious reference which is represented first by Ayatollah Sheikh Issa Qassem, man of peace and nationalism.”
Al-wefaq demanded the National Community to play a positive role and “guarantee stability in the country by activating its authority and imposing security and stability for everyone through a democratic political process that would bring the country out of its crisis and reflect the public demands”.
Al-Wefaq further called upon the Bahrain people to “express their rage and condemnation to this unjust sentence in all legitimate and peaceful means and to defend their religious reference until the last breath…”
A Bahrain court gave Ayatollah Sheikh Issa Qassem one year suspended prison sentence along with manager of Al-Bayan office for religious revisions, Sheikh Hussein Youssef Al-Qassab, and office member Mirza Al-Darazi and imposed a penalty on them worth 100 thousand Dinars, as well as the confiscation of the Khums money and two other land properties.
