‘New programme to help Bahrainis’

The performance indices assessment programme was launched yesterday in cooperation with the Bahrain Centre of Excellence at the Royal Police Academy at the hands of Interior Minister Shaikh Rashid Bin Abdullah Al Khalifa in the presence of adviser to the Prime Minister for Cultural Affairs Mohammed Al Muttawa and Public Security Chief Major General Abdul Latif Al Zayani.

The Interior Minister said the programme created new concepts of government performance that would directly benefit the Bahraini community under the directives of His Majesty, the King and the comprehensive economic vision launched by the Crown Prince and economic development board chairman.

Further highlighting the efforts of the police he said, “Many challenges were faced by the police force that could only be dealt with team spirit and a well planned method.”

“The ministry has priorterized upgrading of police stations and that has led to clamping on many crimes,” he said.

The minister also lauded the efforts of the Bahrain Centre for Excellence and its role in spreading motivating principles, affirming to the ministry.

Al Muttawa commended the role of the Interior Ministry, for its its development and adoption of the social partnership concept.

He also congratulated them on winning the Special Achievement award for the second consecutive year.

Al Muttawa said, “The Bahrain Centre for Excellence had great interest in spreading the excellence policy in all ministries and government organisations.” He further informed that the centre received support from the highest leadership levels in the Kingdom.

The Public Security Chief speaking at the event commended the developmental steps taken by the ministry and its efforts in providing a safe security environment, which placed Bahraini police among the best in the world.

A Zayani said, “The ministry had a strategy of three parameters orienting a modern police force with a high level of education and culture to support the society, prepare a force with readiness to maintain order and public security and coordinate and cooperate with all concerned bodies to provide high levels of security”.

The Interior Ministry has formed a team headed by Inspector General Brigadier General Ibrahim Habeeb Al Ghaith and a number of officers to follow up on the projects and visit police stations and Directorates under the ministry.
