The agreement came at the end of their two-day meeting in Doha yesterday.
The prosecutors agreed to establish a joint website which will be updated with contribution from the member states.
They also agreed to study ways to improve the performance of their public prosecutions.
In his inaugural speech, Qatar’s Public Prosecutor Ali bin Fitaise al-Merri said that one of the reasons for the global financial crisis was corruption.
He said that Qatar was determined to fight corruption at all its forms within the regional and local levels. “Qatar has started partnerships at the global level to fight corruption.”
He called upon the gathering to draw a joint strategy to fight corruption “which knows no borders and came to our countries without visas”.
The Public Prosecutor suggested exchange of information and experience in fighting corruption in each state.
He said that Qatar would host a UN conference on fighting corruption in November next year.
The GCC Secretary General Abdul Rahman bin Hamad al-Attiyah said the economic crisis could “produce severe crimes in the region which constitutes a new challenge to the public prosecutors”.
