The theme of the three-day conference, being held under the patronage of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, is ‘Working Together for a Safer Childhood.’
“The generous support of the government for this event reflects the leadership’s recognition and our responsibility towards securing a safe future for children in all parts of the world, particularly in the Arab region,” Al Rabeeah said.
He said that Saudi Arabia is one of the signatories to the UN Convention on the Rights of Child.
Al Rabeeah added that the kingdom pays special attention to the protection of children in accordance with the principles laid down by Islam.
The Third Arab ISPCAN Regional Conference on Child Protection: Preventing Child Abuse and Neglect in the Arab Countries, is being sponsored by the National Family Safety Programme (NFSP) in collaboration with the International Society for Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect (ISPCAN) and the National Guard Health Affairs.
Established in November 2005 by a royal decree, King Abdullah directly funds the NFSP.
