The leader of Yemen’s Houthi movement, Abdul Malik Al-Houthi, has vowed to control all of Yemen currently held by the internationally-recognised government. Al-Houthi made his claim as fighting in the Marib Governorate continues to escalate.
“We will liberate all of our country and take back all the areas occupied by the enemies [who want] to subjugate them to the Americans, British and Israelis…” he said in a speech broadcast by the Houthi-controlled Al-Masirah TV. “We will guarantee that our country will be free and independent, not subject to any occupation by any external enemy, and not subject to any tutelage.”
The Houthi leader stressed that the movement will continue to confront “the aggression against our country and to support the [Arab] nation’s causes.”
