"The last 12 months saw the prince consolidate his position as the world’s richest Arab, with his fortune rising up to $ 21.3 billion," the magazine said while releasing its list of 50 richest Arabs for the year 2011.

"There’s no limit for success. Success is achievement. There is no top. The moment you reach the top you go downhill. If you reach the top of the hill what happens next? You have to go down. I am not planning to go down. As far as I am concerned, you can never reach the top of the hill," Prince Alwaleed told the magazine in a previous interview.

Prince Alwaleed is known for his precision for exploring new and potential business opportunities and ventures in synchronization with the direction and fluctuations of the economic climate.

The prince owns 95 percent of the KHC, which has been listed on Tadawul since 2007. He has been involved in the creation of a diversified long-term investment portfolio of strategic stakes in well-known companies locally and around the world, in multiple sectors covering real estate, media, banking and hotels.

Prince Alwaleed has also been ranked No. 1 for the third consecutive year in Middle East’s Magazine’s 2011 list of the World’s 50 Most Influential Arabs, and No. 1 in the Arabic and English issues of Arabian Business Magazine’s 500 Most Powerful Arabs.

He was also featured in Forbes magazine’s annual list of the world’s richest people for 12 consecutive years.
