The protesters gathered at Freedom Square in the town of Moqsha to renuw their demands and urge the government to end its deadly crackdown on peaceful protesters.

Demonstrators slammed the torture of detained protesters, while calling for the release of political prisoners.

In Moqsha, Bahrainis have been protesting since Saturday.

The protests have been organized by opposition groups including the al-Wefaq.

On November 23, 2011, the Bahrain Independent Commission of Inquiry issued a report, saying that the Manama regime had used ”excessive force, including the extraction of forced confessions against detainees.”

Bahrain has been hit by a wave of anti-regime protests since mid-February last year, which was immediately met with a brutal crackdown by security forces.
February 14 marks the first anniversary of the revolution in Bahrain.

Dozens of demonstrators have been killed and hundreds wounded in the popular uprising in the Persian Gulf nation.
